Men’s Underwear

This week our Jockstrap Wednesday Pair is from Jack Adams. It’s the Nano Jock. I sought advice from our jockstrap daddy, well I should say daddy, Patrick! I knew he was a huge Jack Adams fan and knew he would pick the perfect pair for this day.

The Jack Adams Nano Jockstrap is a performance-designed jock that fits well and is incredibly comfortable during any activity. This athletic-styled jockstrap has a contour pouch made of Lyocell fabric, offering the best support and keeping you dry all day. Our Nano jockstrap is made of lyocell, which naturally wicks away moisture and is ideal for persons with sensitive skin. Made of 33% cotton and 67% lyocell

“Patrick has this to say about this jock:” The pouch is super comfy. It’s like a stretchy mesh. Sort of like the cin2 zen fabric. And the ass straps are super wide, but for some reason make me feel super sexy! Usually, I don’t like the wide straps” He loves the breathable fabric and the way it makes him feel sexy AF. I mean, what’s not to like about that recommendation? “Patrick has this to say about this jock: ” The pouch is super comfy. It’s like a stretchy mesh. Sort of like the cin2 zen fabric. Get the Jack Adams Nano Jock at the Jack Adams site for $34.00. Comes in White, Heather, Royal, and White.

Teamm8 has been working on a collection with the model and influencer Ryan Greasley. Together, they created THE RYAN, an American style jockstrap with a thick waistband. The jockstrap is available in navy blue, red and white.

He is naturally the face of the campaign, in a homage to the American Super Bowl!

Did you guys see the Tom Brady Selfie for his underwear brand this past week? (BTW, I made the title to be taken one of two ways.). This broke the internet for sports fans and anyone not on underwear Twitter/social media. All they could talk about was how Tom posted this picture after retiring.

No offense to our awesome straight readers, but this pic was taken for the “bros” who follow him. Just look at where his hand is placed. He’s not showing off the goods or how the undies pouch looks. It screams to me, “no, homo.” Which I’m sure is the target market for this brand. No one in the world of underwear has even spoken about this brand.

The perfect example of who this is after is what is currently being offered at his Brady Brand underwear. There are more boxer briefs and just three briefs. Would he create a line of compression gear since he played football for many years? The colors of these are more “classic.”
I have an issue when you have a spokesperson (a sports figure, especially an owner) who won’t post pictures in the underwear. It brings to mind, Tim Tebow. In the 70/80s, many sports stars like Jim Palmer rocked bikinis. If I were Tom, I’d invite my friends (like Gronk) to get my undies and share pics.

On the other hand, it’s good to see the mainstream chat about men’s underwear. And not as the butt of a joke, but have a somewhat positive conversation. What are your thoughts on this pic? I’d love to hear from you guys.

This is an amazing thing that Teamm8 does, take a watch and find out more about Ryan

What do you get when you cross inner beauty and compassion with drop dead gorgeous looks in equal measures? You get Ryan Greasley; model, influencer and nurse! Yup that’s right, Ryan not only sets social media on fire with his smouldering boy next door looks, he also dedicates his life to helping others through his nursing profession. Are you love in yet? We are! So when it came time to choosing TEAMM8’s first ever Collaborative release, Ryan was a no brainer choice. Hands on every step of the way, from the design to the visual representation, Mr Greasley flexed his creative talent to the max and delivered a knock-out line, The Ryan Jock. A homage to the American Football classic Jock Strap featuring an extra wide waistband and in patriotic Red White and Blue options. We loved every minute of working with Ryan to deliver this stellar collection and we know you will too. We’re obsessed with The Ryan Jock and we’re obsessed with the man himself!

I watched TV one night this week and was working on the podcast, and a drug commercial came on. The first thing I noticed was the name; I was like, HOW do you pronounce this? But then on comes this beefy guy in a red swim brief. I perked up a bit, unsure whether it was swim briefs or underwear. As the commercial went on, it showed the dad in a tropical shirt embarrassing his daughter at the pool on vacation. The drug is called Sotyktu from Bristol Myers Squibb.

I didn’t know how to react a first. I was waiting to see that he was the butt of some joke. However, they never made fun of him for wearing the swim brief, but he wanted to embarrass his daughter. The dad is hot in the swim brief and looks great throughout the commercial. So I give them credit for getting a “real guy ” in the commercial. He doesn’t have a six-pack, and he’s not super buff, but more of a “dad bod” You can watch the video below.

I’m curious about what you guys think of the commercial. I’m still on the fence. I mean, it’s great to have a reg guy in a national commercial in a bright red swim brief. But is this good or bad from your perspective? I can only imagine the general population will react to this commercial.

Undies Cub take

I just watched this commercial on TV last night, and when it came on, I went back and rewatched because I was so surprised. My initial reaction was, ‘why is a medication commercial teasing men for wearing swim briefs.’ But then realized, ‘Oh, they are celebrating them?’

I know the product being advertised is a skin medication, and it seems showing off confidence in ones skin is the goal. What it is just so unusual in this country to see a straight man confident in skimpier swimwear, especially one who doesn’t have a 6 pack. It is actually shocking they went in this direction, but boy am I so happy they did.

In rewatching, I noticed the women in the commercial are way more covered up at the pool, non showing swim bottoms, but this handsome dad proudly walks around in just a speedo and shirt. He shows the exact confidence I feel when I’m wearing that same outfit, so I’m glad this snuck into a mainstream commercial.

I am glad normalizing body positivity and men in speedos was a topic in such a small space, I hope it is a trend that takes off. Other’s seem to be noticing and agreeing as well!

We bring you another Brief Tale! On this episode we have Eric aka TheJockerRoom from instagram. He’s your average guy who’s got a huge passion for underwear. He rocks everything from tighty whities to thongs! He’s got an amazing collection and a huge amazing smile to match.

Learn how he discovered his love of underwear and what styles and pairs he loves now. And there may be something in there that had to deal with talking about underwear with a family member (I know, RIGHT?!). All I have to say is I’m super jealous over this!

We have a super fun jock for those who love something metallic and sexy. I am profiling the Andrew Christian Metallic Silver Jock w/ ALMOST NAKED. The Almost Naked is one of my all-time favorite pouches. I would dare to say it’s in the top 5 list!

The new metallic silver Jock underwear is glistening and perfect for adding some glitz to your wardrobe. You’ll appear to be comprised of metal, but this underwear couldn’t be cozier or softer. You’ll feel like you’re wearing nothing at all thanks to our glittering waistline and integrated ALMOST NAKED® pouch! Sticking, squashing, readjusting, sweating, and chafing have disappeared. To produce a comfortable and distinctive wearing experience, your package will slip naturally into the anatomically correct pouch.

This jock is made from a Fabric Content: of 95% Polyester and 5% Spandex. If you love sexy fun jocks, you need to give this pair a look; I think you will love the fit and fashion of this pair. It retails for $31 on the Andrew Christian site.

UNB has gone through many changes over the years. This October will be the 15th year of the blog. This is an accomplishment; many underwear blogs I read back in the day ended. It’s a lot of work to blog and stays motivated over the years.

Over the last few years, I have been doing the blog myself. We had a staff of up to 9 guys in the early years. Due to my constraints, I had to cut back on some content. I have been wondering where UNB is going in the future. As you can tell, the podcast is one area we are focusing on in the future. It has and continues to do very well and reaches new people who have never read UNB. However, content is not dead. I’m in the middle of planning out the year and have some areas I want to focus on.

  1. Masculinity – What is and is not considered masculine has shifted. There are no clear-cut rules as to what is considered “What a man should wear.” This is an area we need to address and talk about.
  2. Communication – This one goes hand in hand with community building. We need to share our love of underwear/gear. Who do you share your love of underwear with, friends, partners, and people online?
  3. Community Building – Social media is a dumpster fire for men’s underwear. Many amazing guys have been banned or kicked off social media for sharing their love. There are so many rules and regulations; where can we go to build a community? One that is welcoming to every sexual orientation and body size.
  4. Body Image – I suffer for this one, and we need to talk more and more. Not everyone is a muscle guy or wants to be one. But you should get the body you want and enjoy underwear and gear.
  5. Sexuality – We need to talk about issues affecting guys across the sexuality spectrum. We have problems that affect all, but each group faces issues independently.
  6. Sensuality – This is one that I think is super important. Showing off online and sharing pics can cause negative or rude comments. We all want to feel sensual in our underwear and feel our very best. But there is a difference between showing off for thirst traps and showing off because we feel amazing and want to share it with the world.
  7. Acceptance – Lastly, for this post, accepting and being open about our love of gear. I didn’t think this was a big deal when I started UNB. However, now that we have readers/listeners across the sexuality spectrum, many guys hide their love, and yes, some gay guys do as well. We need to make it “normal” to chat underwater with friends about what we find sexy and comfortable.

I would welcome any feedback from you guys. Feel free to DM me on social media or email me your thoughts. If you do, I may want to have a deeper conversation with you, so be ready.

The Air line from N2N Bodywear is one of my favorite all time collections! N2N Just updated this amazing collection for Valentine’s Day. One pair I know you guys will love is the BMValentine AIR RIB THONG. “Newly designed waistband accompanies this super soft, lightweight and beautifully RED rib fabric. Accommodating stretch and sexy design will make this new thong a fave!”

Doreanse is a favorite of many guys because they have some great styles matched with incredible prices. They are one of the few brands to have pricing under $10 for a pair of underwear. Doreanse is also a brand I don’t hear many complaints about the designs, quality, or fabric.

Doreanse is known for making thongs and g-strings that guys love. While that’s not all they make, there are briefs, bikinis and trunks/boxer briefs. I think they are most known for the thongs. This collection isn’t heavy on the thongs but I think there will be many new pairs you guys will see as must-have items.

You can see the entire collection at the UNB Store and we are giving you 20% off all Doreanse with code Dor20 until Feb 7th.
